Kenyon told the students she has been playing golf since age 12, and her main influence was her father who also played the game.

When asked what she thought about the difference between her male counterparts pay and female golfers she said, "male players pay is well deserved, it is more widely watched and has a larger audience."

She shared why she loves playing at home, "I love the comfort of my own home and food, I also like my family being able to come watch me play."

Sarah will be getting married this spring to her fiance' Duane on Jan. 10. 2009 in her homeland of Australia. She plans to take off only, "a few days" to have what she calls her, "mini-moon."

What's your preference?

By E. Alicia Chance
I asked several students on campus what their preference was pertaining to shopping many said they like to go to the mall instead of doing it online.

In general, the most popular reason was the entire shopping experience as a whole.

"I like to go shopping and try things on. I hate online shopping!" stated Michelle Nanfang.

Students stated going to the mall while being with friends makes the experience more fun and enjoyable.

Being able to try on the clothing was also a popular reason as to why they would rather shopping in the mall instead of doing it on the net.

Instant Gratification was brought to light when asking these questions, people don't want to wait for their items anymore. They want them as soon as possible.

Students told us that they want to be able to take their clothes home with them right away. They did not like having to wait for it to come in the mail.

Elizabeth Dat stated, "I prefer to go shopping because you cant try things on online. Also because you can't get [the item] right that second."

You also run the risk of it not being the correct size or the particular brand may run smaller or larger.

People have different body types, and alot of times clothes look different on your body than they do in advertisements." said Lomenie Etienne

It is a true statement you wouldn't know that unless you were to try it on in the store.

On the contrary, others stated that they do not have enough time to travel to the mall, then to spend time shopping and trying on clothing.

This weeks poll answers varied, but for the most part the majority find the shopping experience to be fun and enjoyable.

People want the instant gratification of receiving their purchases immediately versus the gamble of your clothing not fitting and having to return it.

Summer 2008: Beijing Olympic Games

By: E. Alicia Chance

As the summer games began we were introduced to 2008 of China’s best performers in the opening ceremony who were used to display a spectacle of lights and acrobatics for the world to see.

While looking at the many different shapes and animals they were ale to create it made many wonder how they were able to pull of such an outstanding show with man as the foundation of it all.

The games consisted of many up and downs, especially for the usual dominant American track and field stars.

Starting with Tyson Gay, who was favored to do very well in theses games; made it to Semi-finals ran 10.05 in the 100m. Dash only to miss the final by one spot.

On that same day we have Jamaica’s finest Mr. Usain Bolt who ran an incredible time of 9.85.

With that time he was deemed the fastest man on the track this summer. That was until finals came and he broke his own record running a 9.72 beating out the great Michael Johnson’s (USA) Olympic record.

Lets not forget Ms. Lolo Jones (USA) who ran outstanding in all rounds, made it to the final with the best time only to hit the last hurdle and be pushed down to 7th place.

Her teammate Dawn Harper got the gold.

The man of the Olympics has to be Michael Phelps, who brought home a total of (8) gold medals.

He also broke several Olympic records and has been named the only athlete to bring home that (8) gold medals in one single Olympic game.

In all USA brought home the most medals.
